I was rummaging through old photographs the other day and the porch chairs in this picture caught my eye. There are two different styles, the finials on the back posts are slightly different, but look identical otherwise and the seats are woven with an ash splint. I do not have any information on the resort, or the people depicted, but would love to hear from anyone who may have some. The bottom left hand corner places this shot at the Idyl Ease resort in South Hero Vermont, the picture is not dated, but I would say it must be around the early 1900’s. The bench in the lower right looks like it might fold up for storage, another interesting project. I plan on building these chairs and offering them for sale on our website as soon as I have completed some other projects. If anyone is interested let me know, also any information on the Idyl Ease, or this picture in general would be greatly appreciated.
